High values may indicate

High epithelial cells in urine may indicate urinary tract infection, kidney disease, or certain types of cancer. High squamous epithelial cells often indicate sample contamination.

Low values may indicate

Low or few epithelial cells in urine is normal and indicates proper sample collection and healthy urinary tract lining.
